I’m fascinated by all wildlife -from insects to wild cats! How they behave in their natural habitat and their beauty and purpose on our planet.
So many creatures are endangered as a consequence of climate change and I want to paint more of our incredible domestic and wild creatures to celebrate the importance of biodiversity. There’s an abundance of colour in the smallest to the largest creatures on earth. Intricate patterns on fur to geometric scales on a fish! Art in nature is infinite. Toobs Art is excited to explore all formations and recreate artwork to reflect this.

Birds
Animals often take on a human trait or behaviour which makes them ever more endearing to watch and be in the presence of.
I find birds particularly intriguing and oftentimes amusing! The cock of a head, the high pitched trill, the protection of their young on a nest!
My 'Quirky Bird’ series began by accident when some builders left surplus wood behind after a project at our home. I’d run out of canvasses, and began painting on wooden planks! This series has become very popular, appealing to those with a sense of humour and a love of birds! They also make great space saving works of art. Often art lovers struggle to find more space to hang new works. These narrow wooden offerings fit in nicely between doorways or in alcoves!

PET PORTRAITS
As an animal lover pet owner, painting pet portraits was the most obvious place to start my artistic journey. I’m fortunate to have been able to meet with most of the pets shown on this website. I love to meet the pets where possible as well as take my own photos to ensure that I know every nuance and character trait. My client base so far have been very happy the results and tell me how well I’ve captured their specific pet’s personality.

EQUINE
I’m very fortunate to have a daughter who rides regularly, which has exposed me to the wonderful world of horses and ponies! I’m going to be producing more artworks showcasing horses of all types; in motion and close up. They truly are beautiful and fascinating creatures.
